ORIGAMI BIRDS
by Roberto Romero
The exuberance of the tropics in harmony with the minimalism of the East. Two territories, two cultures and iconic references that, at the frontier of artistic creation, express the fusion of the past with the contemporary. Origami, an ancient paper folding technique popularized in Japan, gives wings to the argentinian artist Roberto Romero to unfold with wire a poetic flock of birds and exotic birds from the Brazilian fauna. Metallic thread is the raw material that characterizes his work and exposes in this new collection of decorative objects the three-dimensional lightness that floats in the form of macaws, toucans, flamingos, owls and hummingbirds.
The result in each piece is the reproduction of an exact and energetic design in contrast with an almost ethereal lightness. The hollow sculptures claim magnetism and invite the eye to dwell on the details of the perfect geometry.
