Insects

The series of insects was born in Colombia, from the observation of the exuberance of the nature of tropical forests. These first sculptures were handmade from galvanized wire, and decorated with pieces of Austrian or Murano crystal from Europe.
They are oversized, grain-sized insects and the collection includes flies, mosquitoes, dragonflies, ants, fireflies and beetles, among others.
Small examples were also made as jewelry or brooches, decorated with Swaroski crystals, which people placed in the shelters. These accompanied fashion collections by great designers such as Colombian Lina Cantillo when she presented her collection in 2008 on the catwalks in Madrid, Spain.
